Environmental Policy
Passionate About Protecting Our Planet
Mayne Veterinary Clinic recognise that all businesses impact on the environment in a variety of different ways. As such we are committed to the continual improvement of our environmental performance in relation to our services, products and operations. We have identified the following key environmental impacts associated with the veterinary industry – waste disposal and the consumption of energy, water and other resources.

We are committed to reducing these impacts and to the continual improvement of our environmental performance. To help achieve this, Mayne Vets are working alongside ‘Investors in the Environment’ and ‘Eco Offset‘, receiving Green Accreditation in 2022.
We were shortlisted as finalists as the Sustainable Travel Champion in 2023 (for the IEE Awards) and The Green Veterinary Practice of the Year in 2022 (for The Webinar Vet Virtual Congress).
We are committed to working with our staff, customers, suppliers, regulatory bodies and neighbours to achieve the following objectives;
o Meet and where possible exceed all environmental regulations relevant to our organisation and its activities.
o Increase cost-effectiveness by reducing our consumption of energy and raw materials
o Reduce waste, pollution and noise both locally and in the wider environment
o Systematically assess all aspects of our company
o Set targets for measurable annual improvements
o Make our progress available for independent assessment.
o Embrace environmentally conscious behaviours and protocols within the clinic
It is the responsibility of all employees, visitors and contractors to fully support this policy through active participation and co-operation.
Our environmental and sustainable procurement policy will be displayed at all times and is openly available to all members of the public
The introduction and implementation of these policies is a commitment of the management and a shared responsibility with our employees. Keith Mayne and Lindsey Raven-Emrich have designated responsibility for day-to-day implementation of this policy.
Our environmental policy will be reviewed annually as part of the organisations overall environment management plan.
